Welcome to the NVQ Teaching

The Teaching or class room assistants NVQ was changed to the NVQ in supporting teaching and learning skills. This qualification helps you to become a teaching assistant.

If you previously held the teaching or classroom assistant qualification there is no need to retake the new qualification but it may help you to refresh your knowledge base.

The new Teaching NVQ is available at NVQ Level 2 and NVQ Level 3

It is possible that you may already possess the required skills to complete your NVQ without formal training.  Before you set out on your teaching NVQ training your assessor will assess, identify the areas you will need to undertake your course

To obtain your teaching NVQ qualification, your NVQ Assessor will need to see that you are capable in areas set out in the Units in your course.  The majority of this evidence derives from observation by your assessor.  He or she will assess you in your place of work and take note of how you successfully undertake tasks at your job and observe you knowledge and understanding.
