NVQ TEACHING

NVQ Teaching Level 3

NVQ Teaching Level 3 qualifications are aimed at individuals who carry out a range of situations using a variety of technical skills. These individuals undertake activities under direction from senior staff and may have restricted responsibility for guiding the work of colleagues.

How will you be assessed?

You will be assessed by observation at your place of work coupled with a portfolio that provides additional evidence that you are competent at designated tasks.

How long does the Teaching NVQ take to finish?

There is no set time frame to complete the qualification and is determined by the indivuals ability attain the required evidence of competence.

What jobs can you do after you have gained your Teaching NVQ

You will be qualified to be a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant and Special Needs Assistant.

The mandatory units in an NVQ Teaching Level 3

• Helping to keep children safe  
• Supporting student’s learning activities
• Promoting the need for positive behaviour
• Developing and promoting positive relationships
• Supporting the development and effectiveness of working in team or groups

Some Optional units in an NVQ Teaching Level 3

• Using IT to support learning by students
• Planning delivering and evaluating teaching and learning activities through direction of a senior teacher
• Contributing to the planning and evaluation of teaching and learning activities
• Supporting numeracy development
• Supporting literacy development
• Supporting  the execution of the early years curriculum
•  Supporting  teaching and learning in a curriculum area
• Observation of student performance and development
• Contributing  to the assessment for learning
• Preparing and maintaining the learning environment
• Promoting the transfer of learning from outdoor activities and experiences
